My History
I am Victor, a sports enthusiast since I was a child, and more specifically, a passionate about endurance sports (running, trail running, cycling, triathlon, swimming, etc.).
This passion led me to study the Bachelor of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences in Valencia (2008-2012).
During my years of running (2008-2012), even though I was in good shape by applying everything I learned, continuous injuries prevented me from improving. Every time I managed to get back to my previous level, I would get injured again, and when it wasn’t just one problem, it was something else.
According to scientific studies, 70% of runners get injured at least once a year. In addition, 40% of runners give up running due to continuous injuries.
To this end, since I finished my degree and up until today, I have not stopped training to be able to offer the best possible services, to ensure that athletes do not go through something as common as getting injured. I have completed two master’s degrees, a pre-doctoral stay in England and numerous training courses, conferences,…
The first principle to follow in order to improve our performance is to achieve consecutive training sessions, and injuries prevent this.
I currently work as a trainer for runners and trail runners at victorvalldecabres.com and as a blogger on the website. Training in endurance sports must evolve and take a turn; we cannot only focus on how to run faster or pedal harder, training must cover other equally important areas such as injury prevention, psychology, nutrition,…
My goal is to bring the theoretical knowledge of training and injury prevention closer to athletes. From this blog I try to bring the data from scientific studies into a language that athletes can understand and in a practical way, which is useful for their day-to-day training.
For reasons of possibility of providing a very individualized service, I cannot train everyone individually, which is why I have a great team of trainers and nutritionists.
